About this artist
German-born American artist Peter Max (originally Peter Max Finkelstein), who hails from New York City, was born in Germany in 1937. He is renowned for his vibrant use of colors. His work is linked to the visual arts and culture of the 1960s, especially psychedelic and pop art. Max has served as the official artist for the Super Bowl, the World Cup, the Grammy Awards, and numerous other significant cultural events. The United States Postal Service commissioned him to design the 10-cent postage stamp commemorating the Expo '74 World's Fair in Poland. As one of the most iconic artists of the 1960s, Max has evolved over his career from a visionary Pop artist to a master of Neo-Expressionism. Max Peter's art is now for sale at Myriam Nader Art Gallery in New York.
