This beautiful 20"x 24" Naif painting was duly signed by the famous Haitian artist Gerard (Fortune) in the lower left corner 1986. It is in good condition and sold unframed from a private collection in Colorado, USA, where the artwork will be shipped. Our gallery will issue a certificate of authenticity upon purchase.

Gerard Fortune was born in 1925 and started painting in 1978. He is a houngan, pastry chef, and painter whose talent flourished after the author Selden Rodman recognized it in his book Where Art Is Joy. His work has been internationally exhibited and belongs to the permanent collections of the Waterloo Museum of Art in Iowa and the Ramapo College in New Jersey.
