Gervais Emmanuel Ducasse was considered the most genuine of the Haitian primitive painters. He was a charming and submissive painter who seemed to have no conception of the environment. He took snapshots of life, notwithstanding either good or evil. Such paintings by Ducasse are jealousy guarded by collectors all over the world. Ducasse's name is mentioned in all significant Haitian art books, and his artworks are exhibited at many museums worldwide, including Nader's Art Museum, Museum" College St Pierre" in Haiti, and the Brooklyn Museum of Art in NY.
