Jean-Nelson Dubic is a Haitian painter from the long line of Dubic family painters who paint rural scenes in a primitive style. Jean-Nelson Dubic was born in Leogane, Haiti, 1942 and started to paint in the 1970s. Very quickly, he made a name for himself. He is mainly known for his Ra-Ra and Combite Creole market scenes. The richness of his color application effectively depicts the subdued charm of the countryside of Haiti.
