收藏: Yves Jean-Pierre (Haitian, b. 1942)
Yves Jean-Pierre was born in the ghettos of Port-au-Prince in 1942. Raised in a dysfunctional family, Yves escaped to an ideal world on paper. By age 15, he was a dock worker in the busy harbor of Port-au-Prince. He joined the Centre d’Art/ The Art Center in 1965. His work consists mainly of jungle and voodoo scenes. Since the mid-seventies, his amusing jungle paintings, which mix African and Haitian animals and vegetation, have become popular with American and European collectors.
