Jacques Auguste Toussaint, known as Toussaint, was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He was interested in painting at a very young age and drew inspiration from his home country using the impressionist style's people and scenery. He later changed his style where complete stories are told in the oil paintings that he creates, mostly by the purity of color and the realistic nature captured in his subjects' eyes. Toussaint's vibrant artworks pay homage to humankind, always smiling and optimistic, willing to share his inner joy with the world. He currently resides in Canada, back and forth to New York. He participated in many art expositions in Canada, the U.S., Europe, and Haiti.
