コレクション: Sisson Blanchard (Haitian, 1926-1981)
Sisson Blanchard was born in Trouin, Haiti, in 1926 and died in 1981. In 1949, once a yard boy at the Centre d'Art, he was encouraged to paint the American sculptor, Jason Seley. His works are characterized by a naive boldness, using bright primary colors to depicts birds and still life. His work is included in the Davenport Museum of Art collections and the Waterloo Museum of Art in Iowa. Sisson is considered an older Haitian artist before the '70s.
