About this artist

Famous Saint Soleil Artist, Levoy Exil was born in 1944 in Soisson-la-Montagne. He is one of the main contributors to the Saint Soleil art movement. His paintings are mystical and abstract and often depict Haitian Voodoo Loas, suns and stars, birds, and "marassas"/twins. Levoy style is primitive/naive, and dreamlike. He uses the Pointillism technique of applying small, distinct dots in a pattern to reveal an image drawn from African, Haitian, and Vodou influences. He has exhibited internationally and is well appreciated by art collectors internationally, mainly in Europe. " Sinuous lines create an effect of dancing figures on Levoy's canvasses." (Peintres Haitiens by Gerald Alexis). Get the Book Now!
