Collection: Jeanne Elie Rigaud Joseph (Haitian, b.1926)
Jeanne Elie Rigaud Joseph was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in 1926. Although she grew up in a family of artists, her devotion to painting was revealed late in life. After experiencing several themes and mediums, she finally became known for her unique style of painting young girls and children as symbols of joy, love, freedom, and hope for future generations. With their bare feet, her subjects are dressed in vivid colors and carry a huge bouquet of tropical flowers.
