St.-Louis Blaise (Haitian, 1956-1993) was born in Cap Haitian in 1956. He is deservedly one of the most famous Haitian artists; collectors covet his paintings. Blaise's style is realistic; the design element is precise. His paintings contain enormous detail and are the fruit of patient effort and minute observation. He draws inspiration from Haitian history, notably the Revolution, the Empire, and the Kingdom of Henri Christophe.
