About this artist

Haitian painter Joseph Cameau was born on March 7, 1948, in Port-au-Prince. He attended the Lycée A. Pétion and Quatre C. Schools. After working as an electrician, he began to paint in 1973, with instruction from Calixte Henry. He has been exhibited abroad. He uses flat colors with a scarped outline.
