BUY NOW this original primitive painting signed by the late famous Haitian master Gervais Emmanuel Ducasse born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti in December 1903 and died in 1988. This painting is signed G.E. Ducasse in the lower right, and inscribed along the lowered edge: "Les Paysannes Vont Au Marche Vendre Leurs Produits". It is a 24"x16" oil on masonite.

About this artist

Gervais Emmanuel Ducasse was considered as the most genuine of the Haitian primitive painters. He was a charming and submissive painter who seemed to have no conception of the environment worl: of life he took snapshots, notwithstanding either good or evil. Such paintings by Ducasse are jealoulsy guarded by collectors all over the world. Ducasse's name is mentioned in all major Haitian art books and his artworks exhibited at many museums around the world, among which Nader's Art Museum, Museum" College St Pierre" in Haiti and the Brooklyn Museum of Art in NY .
