Mario Montilus (Haitian, b. 1961)

Self-taught, Haitian artist Mario Montilus was born in 1961 in Port-au-Prince and raised in Leogane. He is known to be a shy, reclusive person. He's said to have been impressed and inspired by the work of the famous Haitian master, Murat St.Vil. His works are fine and expressed in a dreamlike way. His paintings are scarce in the art marketplace. His art is mentioned in the book Masterpieces of Haitian Art on page 114. Get the book here!
