Description

This is a stunning original 14.5"x20.5" framed painting signed by the late Spanish-Puerto Rican master, Ángel Botello (1913 - 1986), one of the greatest Latin American post-modern artists. This artwork belongs to the private collection of Georges S. Nader. Condition Report: This artwork has multiple paper rips, but they do not significantly impact the visibility of the subject matter. One area has been reinforced with tape on the back for support. The signature remains intact, clear, and undamaged, adding to the work's authenticity. While the rips are noticeable, the subject remains easily discernible. To minimize the visual impact of the damage, we recommend mounting the piece on a black background and framing it with glass. The internationally well-acclaimed art critic Gerald Alexis carefully chose the artwork as part of the Marie & Georges S.Nader Foundation Collection. Our gallery will issue a certificate of authenticity upon purchase.

About this artist

The artist critics called him "The Caribbean Gauguin" for his use of bold colors and depictions of island life. Botello's recognition and demand for his artwork continue to grow today, fetching unprecedented auction prices. Ángel Botello was never attached to any particular artistic school or movement and was a protean artist: he developed his own artistic style. Botello was a versatile and many-sided artist who worked in all artistic media at his reach. His paintings and sculptures reside in important collections such as L. Rockefeller, D. Selznick, and H. Morgenthau.
