Collection: Gervais-Emmanuel Ducasse (Haitian-1903-1988)
Self-taught Haitian master Gervais Emmanuel Ducasse was considered the most genuine of the Haitian primitive painters. He was a charming and submissive painter who seemed to have no conception of the environment world: of life, he took snapshots, notwithstanding either good or evil. Such paintings by Ducasse are jealously guarded by collectors all over the world. Ducasse's name is mentioned in all significant Haitian art books. His artworks are exhibited at many museums worldwide, including Nader's Art Museum and Museum College St Pierre in Haiti and the Brooklyn Museum of Art in NY.
